WEDNESDAY 4th SEPTEMBER: Visit to Tirreno Power combined cycle

On Wednesday 4th September SUPEHR and Tirreno Power are pleased to let you visit the combined cycle power plant in Vado Ligure. Shuttle service will be available to take take you from Savona Campus at 17:15 to Tirreno Power power plant and back. During the visit the Reception Cocktail will take place, hosted by Tirreno Power.

THURSDAY 5th SEPTEMBER: Open Lab at Savona campus

On Thursday 5th September you will have the opportunity to visit two laboratories of Savona Campus: the Innovative Energy Systems Laboratory (IES Lab) and the Combustion Lab.

The Innovative Energy System Laboratory (IES Lab) by Thermochemical Power Group (TPG) is the place where the studies carried out at research level by students and researchers are implemented and tested on real test beds. In this laboratory ideas and innovation on Thermoeconomics, Distributed Generation, Innovative Cycles, Renewable Energy and Technology Transfer are implemented.

The DIME Combustion Laboratory is intended to perform a whole range and high quality analysis of gas turbine combustors, for the study and characterization of combustion phenomena both from a fluid-dynamic, thermochemical and theoretical-numerical point of view. Flexible experimental infrastructures and state-of-the-art measurement and diagnostic techniques are available, which allow the detailed characterization of combustion processes of industrial interest (typical application areas: gas turbines, metallurgical and glass industry, biomass gasification processes).

FRIDAY 6th SEPTEMBER: Visit to Savona Campus Smart Grid

On Friday 6th September a visit to Savona Campus smart Grid is scheduled. Savona Campus is part of International Sustainable Campus Network (ISCN), which provides a global forum to support leading colleges, universities, and corporate campuses in the exchange of information, ideas, and best practices for achieving and integrating sustainability in research and teaching. This has been possible thanks to the realization of a Smart Microgrid Polygeneration, a n-ZEB (near Zero Emission Building) and the implementation of Energy Efficiency Measures. Smart City Demo Campus (SCDC) is a new project that plans to use the Savona Campus as a test rig for future Smart City technologies.
